Fall Preschool Games and Activities

fall preschool games( with pumpkins)

It doesn't matter if you're planning a family game time or a classroom game time, these fall preschool games will fit nicely into a fall preschool theme.

The Great Pumpkin Race

This is a simple race but since pumpkins are not smooth balls and don't roll in nice straight lines, you will need plenty of room!

You need two large pumpkins. The racers line up on the starting line with the pumpkins turned on their sides. On the signal, the racers use their hands to roll the pumpkins to the finish line. If you want to play this as teams, make it a relay race.

Pass the Pumpkin

This is a version of the game Hot Potato only used with a small, lightweight pumpkin. An apple could be used also as apple harvest time is symbolic of fall. Players form a circle. A small pumpkin (or apple) is passed from player to player while one player sings, whistles or claps. When the music or clapping stops, the player who has the pumpkin is out and sits in the center. The last one out wins. Stops should be made frequently so the game moves quickly and players will not be out for a long period.

Ring the Pumpkin

Line up three large pumpkins with stems, to form a ring toss. Use small hoola hoops for the rings. Mark a throwing line on the floor and take turns trying to ring a pumpkin stem.

Knock knock. Who’s there? House. House who? House it going?
