Preschool Valentine Crafts
Use these preschool Valentine crafts to help celebrate Valentine's Day.
Valentine Mouse
Supplies Needed:
Red, pink, and white Construction paper. Scissors, and glue.
Cut out a heart 5-6" tall. Turn it upside down, this is the body. Cut a heart 2-3" tall for the head. Glue it to the body. Add small hearts for the ears and smaller ones for the eyes. A heart turned upside down makes the nose and mouth. Cut some strait pieces for whisker, And a long strait piece for the tail. Put a small heart at the end of the tail.

Window Hearts
Supplies Needed:
Coffee filters, Paintbrush, Red tempera paint, and water.
Water down red tempera paint in a container. Cut a heart out of the coffee filter. Then take the paint brush and paint the coffee filter with the watered down paint. You do not have to cover the hole thing. Painting only parts of it will give a tie dyed affect. When it is dry hang them in a window. They look great!

Foil Heart
Supplies Needed:
Aluminum Foil, Piece of red, white, or pink Construction paper, Glue, scissors, Red paint, and Q-tips.
Cut two hearts out of aluminum Foil. Glue them on to the piece of construction paper. Have the children paint the hearts with the Q-tips. Makes a sparkly Valentine display.

Vinegar Hearts
Supplies Needed:
Vinegar, small bowl, brushes, paper, tissue paper
Pour white vinegar into small bowls. Set out brushes, pieces of white construction paper and small heart shapes from red tissue paper. Let the children brush vinegar on their papers. Then let them cover their papers with hearts. As it dries, the hearts will fall off leaving red heart prints.

Translucent Hearts
Supplies Needed: wax paper, vegetable oil, cotton balls, tissue paper
Cut a large heart shape for each child out of waxed paper. Pour vegetable oil into shallow containers and set out cotton balls. Let the children tear red
tissue paper into small pieces. Have the dip the cotton balls into the oil and brush it over their waxed paper hearts. Then let them press the red tissue pieces all over their hearts until the shapes are covered. The oil will help the tissue pieces stick to the hearts while making the red color translucent.

Valentine Heart Paper Wrap
Use potato prints to make homemade Valentine heart paper that can be used for Valentine cards, note paper or gift wrap.
Supplies Needed:
Plenty of white paper
Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Large raw potato
Pink and red tempera paint
Potato Prints
Adult to do the following: Slice a raw potato in half lengthwise. Place a cookie cutter on the cut side of one half of the potato. Push the cookie cutter into the potato while keeping the potato flat on the table. Break away the potato that's around the outside of the cookie cutter. Push the shape out of the cookie cutter. Dry off any moisture from the potato with a paper towel. Dip in paint and let your child have fun stamping!
